Module-One Introduction :
Orthodontics: When? How? Why?
- History of orthodontics, as the longer you look back the more you can leap ahead.
- Classification of normal occlusion.
- How to easily identify the type of malocclusion.

- A trip through a case and the phases of treatment, that will introduce to the candidate the whole course idea.

Module-Two Straight Wire Appliance :
“Biomechanics: SIMPLIFIED!”
- Learn dealing with forces, moments, actions and reactions.
- Learn that the mechanics and forces is mandatory to be able to lead the case in the direction you want.

- Learn how to control the type of tooth. movement you want with different types of wires and brackets.

- How brackets were innovated, how they work to transmit the forces to the teeth.
- Straight wire brackets and the difference between different type of prescription.
- Learn How to choose your brackets since day one in treatment planning to help you in the finishing stage.

- As brackets are the tool that transmit forces to the teeth, their position on the tooth surface is one of the most important, or most important step for having a well finished case with a perfect smile and occlusion.
- Detailed explanation of the different concepts for bracket positioning.
- A workshop on models will be held to make sure of good understanding before bonding in patient mouth.
“Bonding”
Because our time is the most valuable thing, having a broken or deboned bracket will lead to more appointment time and will affect the overall treatment duration. So, introducing this lecture so the doctor understands.

“Proper Orthodontic documentation”
- Photography is a very important tool in diagnosis and photos is one of the main diagnostic records in orthodontics.
- Showing the ideal way to take pictures of the patient extra and intra oral.
- The correct lighting, angulation is very important so that each doctor can show his cases in a professional way.
- A workshop on patients will be held after the lecture using mirrors and retractors.

There are lots of materials that the orthodontist uses to help in his work. We will see the different types of pliers, wires, and auxiliaries and the uses of each one of them.

Anchorage is one of the main topics in orthodontics.
- Knowing the reactions before it happens and how to avoid it will dramatically affect the treatment time and outcome.
- Space closure: ways and techniques.
- Discuss the sliding mechanics, sectional mechanics, different kinds of loops and how do they work.
“Miniscrews (TADS)”
Mini screws have become an essential tool for anchorage and treatment of various complicated cases.
- In this lecture we will discuss all types of mini screws and most recent ways to insert them.
- A workshop will be held on models to know how to hold the drivers and the screw.
“Impacted canines”
- We will discuss different types of impacted canines.
- Different types of surgical exposure.
- Learn the biomechanics used for returning them to the dental arch.

"Wire bending workshop"
Although we are working with preadjusted brackets and straight wire technique,We still need in some cases to wire bending to get better finishing.
In this workshop we Learn together most of the bends needed in orthodontic treatment.
"Orthognathic – Retention and relapse"
- Orthognathic surgery is one of the treatment options of nongrowing patients.
- Explain the types of orthognathic surgeries.
- Learn the role of orthodontist to prepare the case for the surgery and its role after the surgery.
As relapse is the biggest fear that face every orthodontist; In this lecture we will explain what do to avoid relapse and we will explain all kind of different retainers.

Dr. Tarek El Ashkar :
After getting his Bachelor degree from cairo university 2004 , orthodontics his aim. His journey started in France , Lille university for a probatory period in 2007 then he joined The master program at Cairo university from 2008 to get my master degree in 2012.
Having another passion of teaching and helping other doctors, he founded Ortholearn program 2016 , where he gives the doctors the knowledge he got form more than 15 years of clinical experience and lots of specialized courses related to orthodontics .

Dr. Marwan Elsayed :
Dr. Marwan Elsayed is an Egyptian orthodontist and dentofacial orthopedics. He has a private practice in Cairo at Ortho Learn institute and his clinic. He’s a Co-founder and instructor at Ortho-Learn institute. He’s a Founder of Mar Dental Center. He graduated from the Faculty Of Dentistry at Cairo University (2011). And he completed 2 years program in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics.
His personal interest is in the growth and development of the face, identifying the effects of changes in posture, function, and muscle tone and its relationship to orthodontic problems. And early intervention Orthodontic. Dr. Marwan goes beyond straightening teeth to create the most healthier protocol for diagnosis and treating the patient related to their sleep and breathing and TMD issues.
His mission is to help children to learn correct and good oral posture. And correct the soft tissue dysfunction. Dr. Marwan Elsayed is a speaker, lecturer, and clinician on the topic of (airway centric orthodontics)since 2018. He is practicing orthotropic since 2018(orthotropics", a method that claims to guide facial growth). Dr. Marwan Elsayed uses the orthotropics system to reverse the underlying conditions that lead to crooked teeth, sleep apnea, snoring, and TMD, amongst a range of other symptoms.
He is an expert and lecturer and of active early protocol. And Dr. Marwan published his own sequence of this protocol.

Dr. Asmaa Mohamed :
Dr.Asmaa Mohamed is an Egyptian orthodontist. She’s a co-founder & manager of ortholearn institute. She’s a clinical supervisor at ortholearn institute.
She graduated from the faculty of Dentistry at Cairo University (2013). She completed a 2 years orthodontic program. She works as an orthodontist in several private clinics. She is currently attending a Neuromuscular, Airway, and Functional orthodontics program.
Dr. Asmaa's mission is to change the idea about traditional orthodontic treatment from just straightening the teeth to treat the cause beyond the problem & improve the patient life style as possible.
